These earrings are made with stones from Lake Superior and sterling silver. The silver is oxidized to get the grey color.
These stones, along with all the stones in my jewelry, have been found by my husband and myself at Lake Superior. Yes, we spend a lot of time at the beach!
The majority of these rock are basalt.
We may have drilled or cut them but otherwise they are un-altered and untreated.
They will absorb some of your oils and deepen in color and take on a beautiful sheen.
I try to find fairly thin rocks and I think you will find them to be much lighter than you would expect.
Each piece is unique
These earrings have a dark grey bezel set rock on top of a sheet of silver that has silver dust fused to the surface and the edge have been melted. I was going to a bark texture. I also fused a bit of 22K gold leaf to the high points of the silver dust. They are post earrings with an extra large earnut.
