The three key pillars of moisturisation: humectants, emollients and occlusives, are combined in an optimised ratio to replenish dry and dehydrated skin.
Skin dehydration and dryness can be caused by many different things: ageing, cold weather, travelling, hormonal changes, air conditioning, central heating: the list goes on. These changes can result in an increase of TEWL (transepidermal water loss), a process in which water rises to the skin surface and escapes, resulting in low moisture levels within the skin. H.E.O. Mask is designed to tackle the visible signs of dryness and dehydration, whilst supporting the natural skin barrier for improved long-term moisturisation.
- Humectants act as moisture magnets, drawing water in to rehydrate, smooth and plump the skin. H.E.O. Mask features humectant heroes multi-weight hyaluronic acid, glycerin and Natural Moisturising Factors (NMF) that replenish the skin with lost water by creating a reservoir of hydration in the upper layers of the skin.
- Glyceryl glucoside helps to stimulate moisture channels to increase water flow throughout the layers of the skin, while blue sea kale supports the natural production of hyaluronic acid in the skin, to help recharge the skin's hydration levels long term.
- Emollients squalane, ceramides and linoleic acid (vitamin F) use their skin-identical, oil-loving properties to effortlessly slip into the natural skin barrier, to fill any gaps where moisture can escape whilst deeply nourishing the skin.
- Occlusive dimethicone is made up of larger molecules than the other key ingredients, which means it works to form a breathable barrier over the skin surface to lock in the benefits of the humectants and emollients, while physically preventing TEWL.
